VOCCME Registration Information

The VOCCME is presented by the Georgia Osteopathic Medical Association (GOMA), the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society (IOMS), the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS), the Missouri State Medical Association (MSMA), the Montana Osteopathic Medical Association (MOMA), the North Carolina Osteopathic Medical Association (NCOMA), the Ohio Osteopathic Association (OOA), the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of Oregon (OPSO), and the Tennessee Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA). This conference offers up to 48 CME credits of AOA Category 1-A Credit and AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ in a flexible format.

VOCCME General Information

Flexibility:

The VOCCME is all about flexibility! You have the flexibility to choose:

  • When to attend: All programs will be available on-demand as soon as it launches on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 9:00 AM CST and through June 30, 2025.  Take in a presentation before you go to the office, and another in the middle of the night - it is your choice!
  • Where to attend: You can view from anywhere you have internet access – at your home, at the lake, at a ski resort, at your office, or all of the above.
  • What to attend: You can customize the program for your needs by selecting any of the 48 presentations in the VOCCME.
  • How much to attend: You select the credit category that works for you…but when you see more presentations you want to take (and we know you will!), you can increase it to another level by calling the MAOPS office, and we will honor the increased credit discount. 
  • Credit type: The VOCCME presentations are accredited for both AOA and AMA category 1 credit. It will work for you, no matter how you are boarded.

On-Demand:
The VOC
CME 2025 will launch on Friday, February 14, 2025.  All 48 VOCCME presentations will be on-demand and will be available through midnight PST on Monday, June 30, 2025.  

Credit Options:

Registrants can choose from various credit level categories for this virtual conference in 8-credit increments.  You choose which presentations you want to complete on-demand.  If, after your initial purchase, you would lik eto increase to a higher credit level category, we will honor the discounted pricing. To purchase additional credit in 9-credit increments, please call MAOPS at 573-634-3415.

If you complete more programs than you purchase per the credit category you registered for, you will have the ability to purchase a higher-level credit category, and we will honor the discounted rate. If you do not purchase a higher-level credit category, then we will remove completed programs starting with the most recently completed program and work backwards to get to the credit amount and category you purchased. Example: If you purchased 16 credits, but completed 20 credits, we will remove the last 4 programs you completed to get your account to the 16 credits you purchased.

Rates:
Member vs. Non-Member Rates – To take advantage of "Member Prices" for this conference, you must be a member of one of the nine partner associations listed above. Membership will be verified with each partnering association. If you pay the member rate, and you are not a member of one of the eight partner associations, you must either join one of the nine state associations to get the member rate or pay the difference between the member rate you paid and the higher non-member rate before your CME certificate will be made available to you! 

NOTE: Registration for the VOCCME will end on Saturday, May 31, 2025!

Refund/Cancelation Policy
VOC
CME registrations made before May 31, 2025, can be canceled within 30 days of the purchase date for a refund of 80% of the registration fee. Registrations made in June 2025 can be canceled by June 30, 2025, for a 50% refund of the registration fee. No refund will be given for cancelations after June 30, 2025. Please note: no refunds will be granted once one or more programs have been launched.  To cancel a registration, call the MAOPS office at 573-634-3415.

Gage Alvernaz, DO Related Seminars and Products


Dr. Gage Alvernaz has dedicated his clinical interests to Pediatric Pulmonology. He is completing his fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonary at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and is set to graduate in June 2025. Dr. Alvernaz began his medical journey at California State University, Chico earning his Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology. He then received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine in Dothan, Alabama. Dr. Alvernaz completed his residency in Pediatrics at Oklahoma State University, where he developed a passion for pulmonary care. Dr. Alvernaz is board-certified in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr. Alvernaz has a special interest in treating children with technology dependence, asthma, neuromuscular diseases affecting the pulmonary system, and aerodigestive disorders. He has contributed to several research projects, including work on exercise-induced dyspnea and long-term lung function in bone marrow transplant patients. 

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Alvernaz’s biggest pride is his family. He is married with two children, ages 3 and 1. As a family, they enjoy exploring the Minnesota outdoors, indulging in various cuisines, and watching superhero movies.

Tim Beals, DO's Profile

Tim Beals, DO Related Seminars and Products


Dr. Tim Beals is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip preservation and joint replacement of the hip, knee, and shoulder. He sees patients at Sports Medicine Oregon, in Tigard and Wilsonville, Oregon. Dr. Beals earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois in Champaign. He graduated with his medical degree from Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois. Dr. Beals completed his internship at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, Oregon. He then completed his residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at The Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia. 

Dr. Beals recently completed his fellowship in Hip Preservation and Reconstruction at the world-renowned Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado, where he trained under the mentorship of Dr. Philippon and Dr. Matta. They are the leading innovators in advanced hip arthroscopy, anterior hip replacement, and the surgical treatment of hip dysplasia. Dr. Beals is board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. Beals is also a team physician for the US Ski and Snowboard teams and previously provided medical care for professional ice hockey and indoor football teams, Division I and II athletics, and high schools.

Dr. Beals is originally from Chicago and is excited to bring his wife back to the Portland area, where she grew up. Dr. Beals enjoys hiking, snowboarding, playing ice hockey, and cooking in his free time.

Jason Beaman, DO, MS, MPH, FAPA's Profile

Dr. Beaman completed medical school at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He then completed two simultaneous residencies in Psychiatry and Family Medicine at the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa. After residency, Dr. Beaman completed a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. After his fellowship, he obtained a Master of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, and a Master’s in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Beaman is board-certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Preventative Medicine, Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and Forensic Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry.

Dr. Beaman served as the Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Oklahoma State University for eight years before becoming the chair of the School of Forensic Sciences. He is also the Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Director. While Dr. Beaman was chair of psychiatry, he created the Project Blue Streets Task Force, which established a city-wide protocol for the care of mental health patients and testified against Johnson & Johnson in the State opioid litigation. He is active in research in the areas of motives of criminal behavior, the intersection of methamphetamine and violence, and the epidemiology of Adverse Childhood Experiences. 

Dr. Beaman is on the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiners and the Midwest Counter Drug Training Center. He was named to Oklahoma Magazine’s “40 Under 40” list in 2017.

Yvonne Cheung, MD, MPH, MBA, CPHQ's Profile

Dr. Yvonne Cheung is the Associate Chief Medical Officer and Associate Chief Quality Officer at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. She also serves as Chair of the Quality and Patient Safety Committee of the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine (BORM). She is also a staff anesthesiologist at Springfield Anesthesia Services. Dr. Cheung’s prior leadership roles in Quality and Patient Safety include Chief Quality and Safety Officer at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Associate Chief Medical Officer/Vice President of Quality and Patient Safety at Mass General Brigham | Newton-Wellesley in Newton, Massachusetts. 

Dr. Cheung received her Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She received her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City, New York. She obtained an MBA in Medical Management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst Isenberg School of Management in Amherst, Massachusetts. Dr. Cheung completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She then completed her residency in Anesthesiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, her fellowship in Quality and Patient Safety in 2014, and another fellowship in Medical Education in 2016 at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Cheung is a diplomate and is board-certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Cheung is on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Coalition for the Prevention of Medical Errors. Sara Coffey, DO's Profile

Dr. Coffey is an Associate Clinical Professor and Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She completed her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. Coffey completed her residency in Adult Psychiatry at the University of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, and her fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Cambridge Health Alliance, a Harvard Medical School Affiliate in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Dr. Coffey served as a consultant to the Department of Mental Health in assistance with the implementation of Oklahoma Health Homes. In this line of work, Dr. Coffey is an expert in collaborative care models and best practices of integration and collaboration. Dr. Coffey also served on the executive team as the Director of Clinical Operations for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Division of Child Welfare in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. Coffey is currently the Medical Director for Oklahoma’s Child Psychiatry Access Line and the Behavioral Health Medical Director for OSU’s Health Access Network. She is the Lead of OSU’s Help for the Healer ECHO. Dr. Coffey is board-certified in General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. 

Dr. Coffey has been active in various activities and organizations, including the Children’s Advocacy Center of Oklahoma, the National Council of Behavioral Health, the Oklahoma Council on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the Oklahoma Psychiatric Physicians Association, and she’s a member of the Oklahoma Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board.  

Dr. Coffey was awarded the Educational Outreach Award in 2012 by the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and she received the Helen Beiser Award in 2011 by the Illinois Council of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

July Jean Cuevas, MD, FAAP's Profile

Dr. July K. Jean Cuevas is a native of the Dominican Republic and graduated from medical school at Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) in Santiago, Dominican Republic. She worked for several years as a medical provider in Santiago for a hospital foundation, treating children with congenital heart disease, and she was an Assistant Professor at PUCMM. In 2015, Dr. Cuevas completed her residency in Pediatrics at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in the South Bronx in New York. This is where she found her passion and calling in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP). She then completed her fellowship in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Kansas City. After completing her fellowship, she was a Clinical Assistant Professor at Children’s Mercy Kansas City for six years. Dr. Cuevas worked with patients with special needs, who had mental and developmental-behavioral concerns. Dr. Cuevas was the Program Director for the DBP fellowship program from 2022 to 2024. 

Dr. Cuevas joined the University of Missouri in the Department of Child Health as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in 2024. She is also a Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrician at the Thompson Center for Autism & Neurodevelopment and the Associate Program Director for the DBP fellowship program. She is board-certified in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics. She is also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. 

Dr. Cuevas has experience in a variety of neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, developmental delays, and anxiety in children. She enjoys working with all age groups in pediatrics, but birth to 4 years of age is her favorite group. Dr. Cuevas enjoys completing developmental evaluations in young children as well as managing medical and behavioral ADHD and anxiety. Her future research interests include neurodiversity in minoritized groups and access to care for Spanish speakers. 

Dr. Cuevas was a 2022 & 2023 Rockstar Hall of Fame recipient and was honored for being among the highest-rated physicians by her patients. She received the Young Physician of the Year Award from the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA) in 2022.

Sarah Davis, DO's Profile

Dr. Sarah Davis graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan, in 2004. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at St. John Oakland Hospital (now Ascension Macomb-Oakland) in Madison Heights, Michigan. She served as Chief Resident and was named Resident of the Year in 2007. After completing her residency, she joined a family medicine/athletic medicine practice in Novi, Michigan. She practiced there for two years and then moved to Denver, Colorado, where she continued to practice family medicine with the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group. In 2011, Dr. Davis embarked on her integrative medicine journey by enrolling in the Integrative Medicine distance learning fellowship program founded by Dr. Andrew Weil at the Arizona Center of Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona. In 2017, she completed the Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Plus One Residency at LECOM Health Millcreek Community Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania. While completing this residency, she discovered her passion for teaching. 

Dr. Davis is currently an Associate Dean of Osteopathic Integration and an Associate Professor of Osteopathic Principles and Practice at the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine in Meridian, Idaho. She is also an Affiliate Faculty member for the Family Medicine Residency of Idaho in Boise, Idaho. Dr. Davis is board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine by the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine, in Family Medicine & Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine, in Integrative Medicine by the American Board of Integrative Medicine, and in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine.

Dr. Robert Ellis is a Medical Oncologist who specializes in the holistic care of cancer patients. He joined Northwest Permanente Medical Group, Portland, Oregon, in 2005. Dr Ellis is a Costin scholar and is a faculty member of the Healthy Living and Wellness curriculum and Lifestyle Medicine track at Western University of Health Sciences – College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California. Dr. Ellis is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and in Palliative Medicine by the American Board of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. In addition, he is also a Diplomate of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners and the American Academy of Pain Management. Dr. Ellis also has professional training in plant-based nutrition and plant-based culinary arts. He is a certified culinary medicine specialist.

Dr. Ellis was a 1987 graduate of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He also holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Rosalind Franklin University of Health Sciences, Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Ellis completed his residency in Internal Medicine at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso, Texas, and his fellowship in Hematology/Medical Oncology at Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, Washington. Dr. Ellis previously served as the Medical Director of the Cancer Center of Southwest Washington and Hospice of Southwest Washington. A 26-year US Army veteran, Dr. Ellis left active duty in 2001 as a colonel.

Peter Eum, DO's Profile

Dr. Peter Eum is an Integrative Medicine Specialist with a passion for blending conventional medical treatments with holistic, lifestyle-focused care. He attended Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri, and graduated in 2015. Dr. Eum completed his Internal Medicine and Quality and Patient Safety residencies at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dr. Steve Fern was born in Springfield, Massachusetts. He did his undergraduate work at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Fern earned his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. He completed his internship at the Metropolitan Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri, and his residency in Internal Medicine at Deaconess Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Dr. Fern is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Osteopathic Internal Medicine. Dr. Fern works for Specialists in Gastroenterology, LLC, in St. Louis, Missouri. He cares for adults with gastrointestinal disorders with an emphasis on colon cancer screening, gastroesophageal reflux disease, Barrett’s esophagus, and inflammatory bowel disease, including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s Disease. His special interests include liver disease, including the treatment of patients with hepatitis C and esophageal motility disorders. 

Dr. Fern is active in the teaching programs of several medical schools. He has lectured extensively on several GI topics locally, nationally, and abroad. Dr. Mandilin Hudson grew up in San Luis Obispo, California. For her undergraduate education, she attended Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. After graduating with a Bachelor’s in Biology, she attended Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California, where she found her passion in psychiatry. Specializing in psychiatry allowed her the time and expertise to treat patients holistically. Dr. Craig Kubik graduated from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York, with a degree in biology. Dr. Kubik worked as a Respiratory Therapy Technician for the Genesee Hospital in Rochester, New York, and then entered medical school in 1981, earning a degree at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York, in 1985. For the last 22 years of his career, Dr. Kubik has lived and worked in Waycross, Georgia.
